REFLECT ACADEMY IN LONDON AAN DE SLAG
From Content Delivery to Impactful Medical Conversations.
On April 20th & 21st we had the pleasure of facilitating a two-day programme for the Gastro team of AbbVie | UK in London—bringing together Medical Science Liaisons and Medical Advisors around one key question: How do you move from delivering scientific content to creating impactful learning conversations with healthcare professionals?
Working with a group of 13 highly motivated professionals, we saw a strong willingness to challenge existing habits, rethink how medical education is designed and delivered, and actively experiment with new approaches.
Throughout the two days, we combined evidence-based educational principles with hands-on application, supporting participants to translate insights directly into their own practice.
Together, we worked on:- Backward design – starting from the desired impact in clinical practice
- Clear, learner-centered objectives
- Cognitive load – making complex science digestible
- Activation methods – turning sessions into real dialogue
What stood out most was the energy during the micro-teaching sessions, where participants applied these principles to their own content and experienced first hand how small changes can already create more engaging and impactful interactions with HCPs.
A big thank you to Claire Cox for the collaboration and trust in shaping this programme. And to all the participants for their willingness and motivation to think and learn about these topics.
And of course, to our trainers Silke van Beekum and Lynn Epping for bringing Reflect Academy’s approach to life beyond the Netherlands.
